The little birds...

If you watch little birds you will see they are busy and happy! Using whatever they can find they create the most gorgeous little nest.
I would be the little bird with some glittery thread in her nest!
We can be like this. Happily working away with the things that are available to us to create a beautiful and happy home.
All the while with a little song in our heart.

Feather your Nest Friday, 3 February, 2017.

I am late to post! And as it is I am posting something rather than nothing but tomorrow I will come back and add lots more plus pictures!
This is the best I can do for now.

First of all we have a new baby girl! Yesterday! Everything is fine and she is gorgeous and perfect.
It was a long day of waiting and a few small hiccups, nothing serious, just minor and delays and so on.  We have been in for a nurse and kisses again today and I feel like now I can relax... a bit.

Tomorrow I will fill in with photos and details. Thank you for all your prayers! I appreciate them so much.

My week was pretty much a dead loss for savings and getting ahead!
Last weekend I got bite on my arm which I didn't feel happen,  I just noticed it when it came up red. The evening before I had been picking peaches and having a pretty good rummage in the peach tree. I think that is where I got it. Anyway it quickly became huge and painful and things just went from bad to worse quickly.
I had an infection then and antibiotics and given a few hours to improve or go to hospital on a drip.
I am better now but still on antibiotics. I have to say it is a shock how fast you can this all happened.
For the first three nights I really didn't get any sleep so my week is a blur.

The most important thing is Lucy and her husband have a new baby daughter and all is well!
I will get back as soon as I can with all the details and photos!
I will add them to this post...

I hope you had a good week! And got more done than I did!
Weeks like this are why getting ahead is good. I had meals in the freezer and we just used those. What  a relief!

How did you build up your home this week?
Have a lovely weekend! xxx

Here I am at last!
We have Scarlett Lily. She is 6.5 lbs.
This is with Aunty Chloe...

She is so cute and little.  Things are all going well!
Here she is in Great Grandma's arms...

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and prayers.
Hopefully I will be back on track this week!
With love, Annabel.xxx

  1. Dear Annabel and the BBB's ( beautiful bluebird bikies) , congratulations to Lucy and get husband and Harper on the birth of their daughter and sister and congratulations to you Annabel and your family. I am hoping you feel a lot better by now regarding the spider bite, it is not good that you were so unwell but it makes it a lot easier to face these situations when you are prepared as you were.
I cannot wait to see pictures of the new precious bluebird baby and I am continuing to keep Lucy and her family in my thoughts.
I have added to my stockpile thus week and I am decluttering and getting organised in general. I am preparing myself for when my kitchen gets done and planning what I will do when I do not have a working/ functioning kitchen. I will use my dining room and hopefully set up my microwave and kettle and toastet in the dining room and keep a " bare bones " amount of cutlery and crockery out .i will start packing up my plates cups etc soon and decluttering / sort out my pantry in the next few weeks.i haven't done a lot this week either Annabel, I have been doing the basics plus looking after myself including two doctors visits and a massage. I am ok but I have had extreme pain , worse than normal this last few weeks. Onwards and upwards though and to borrow Janes saying , life is good.take care Annabel and beautiful blue birds, have a great weekend,ni plan to work on some craft and make a start on a special gift. 1. Barb, I have just spent 10 days in Qld, the heat and humidity have left me in lots of pain and exhausted, my DD tells me that I will get used to it if I lived there.
Good luck with packing for your new kitchen.

    2. Margaret this year the weather has been particularly trying. My parents found that May was a good time to visit. Having grown up in Victoria my husband's mother always asks how I am going with this weather - she is Queensland born and bred (old families) and this year she has been complaining about the weather - never heard her do that before.

Siestas of an afternoon help with the exhaustion, as for the aching joints I hear you. Thankfully my naturopath has me on something for it.

As for getting use to it - I really do not think that you get use to it - you just adjust and pray for a major weather change.

Kim had another girl Charlotte Rose and she is just beautiful. Even though she was 3 weeks early Charlotte still weighted 7lbs. Its lovely to kiss and cuddle new borns, they make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I am looking forward to seeing the photos and make sure that you take care of yourself as you will not doubt be needed when Lucy comes home.

  7. Annabel, that is just the best news for Lucy, her husband, little Harper and all the family. Such a joy for everyone to welcome a new little girl.

Sorry to hear about your tussle with the spider. I hope you are recovering well and there are no long term effects.

Feathering here has been minimal again - the heat earlier in the week has just knocked me around, then dentist and doctors visits took care of the rest of the week. Still, there's always going to be weeks like this occasionally.

Looking forward to seeing your pics,
    Janine

  10. Hi again, Annabel and beautiful Bluebirders!

My week has been composed of a number of enjoyable little things! I enjoyed using leftover cheese and parsley sauce as a quick ravioli filling (in place of ricotta, egg and parsley!) I am enjoying cups of tea made from native leaves! My husband bought a welding flint and steel lighter, which contributes to my education in such things! There are other things in development/trial stages!! Best of all, I ditched the music books and gave Mum her first piano lesson, designed especially for her! She quickly caught on, and is practising her 'arpeggios' (from a word which means 'playing like a harp!') in C major! Ha ha!! Bluebirders, you're never too old to learn!!!! I'm so proud of my Mum!!

I really enjoyed seeing Cookie's painted jars! What a treat!! I also saw the first flower on my zucchini plants, while cucumber vines continue heavenward!

    With very warm regards,

    1. Hi Rachel, How wonderful to be giving your mum specially designed piano lessons. Have fun -both of you. My tomato plants must be related to your cucumbers! I cannot believe how tall they are- I have never grown tomatoes that tall before. Always something new happening. Mine need to ripen too. Cheers Jo

  11. Dear Annabel,

I am so sorry to hear about the bite on your arm, but am glad that you have been taking good care of it! I had a cat bite on my hand about 10 years ago that I thought was "nothing" until the red streaks started appearing on my hand within hours...when I went to the hospital they told me they would put me on drip and "hope they could save my hand"...I was flabbergasted!!! To think that a silly bite and only a few hours and I was facing losing my hand!!!!??? Needless to say, thanks to the miracle of antibiotics, I still have all my digits, but it sure goes to show how quickly things can turn from "normal" to "nightmare". I hope your arm will be right as rain very soon!

And I am so excited to hear about another little girl!! Hooray for little girls! (I may be biased. :)) Best wishes and lots of kisses to everyone there!

    1. Dear Jen,
That is frightening how fast it happens! It sounds like you got help just in time.
When I was a kid I had a cat bite right into my leg. I had four deep bite marks plus scratches. I remember Mum stood me in the bath tub and blood running down the drain!
Well she took me to the Dr and they gave antibiotics right away and from that time I found out how animal bites can have a ton of germs and you can get very bad infections. EEK. So that is good to know. Other animals like bats can kill you fast from one bite. Fiona told me spiders eat other spiders and carry disgusting germs. Gross!
I am glad you were ok as you have to knit! lol! That is one reason anyway! Love Annabel.xxx

      Delete
    2. Ha! Would believe I continued to (painfully) knit on a pair of socks while I had a bandaid on my knuckle, right after it happened? It was what I was doing before, so I just picked it up and went on with it. Yes, knitting was definitely crossing my mind when they mentioned the possibility of losing my hand! :) I then found out that cat bites (and, like you say, animal bites in general) are nothing to mess around with...someone who works at a vet's told me "You get a cat bite, you go get antibiotics instantly." Yuck about the spiders!!! I hope you are fine!

I just saw the photo of little Scarlett Lily...what a beautiful little girl! I can just smell her little head from here. Lots of love, Jen.

  16. Congrats on the new baby in the family! Nothing like that baby smell.

Do you have brown recluse spiders there? That's the first thing I thought of when I read your reaction to it. (And Jen's horrid ordeal with hers). Many years ago, I got bit by something. Within hours, my joints started hurting going up my arm and I went to the ER. Since we had plenty of both brown recluse and black widows around, they left me in a room and monitored me for hours to see if there was a more severe reaction. In time, the joint pain mellowed out, I was given a tetanus shot, and sent home.
At first I thought I might be overreacting, but the doc assured me that some spider bites can be pretty serious and it's better to be safe than sorry. In any case, I had myself a nice afternoon of naps after tough yard work all morning.

As for the feathering, my biggest accomplishment is just getting back on my regular cleaning schedule. Feels so good to have things looking more normal. I tried making some dishwasher pellets, but they're too dry and crumbly. I need to add a little more liquid next time. I'll just use this batch like powder. They sure smell good!

  17. That is great news. Another beautiful little girl, how wonderful!

    CONGRATULATIONS to all xoxo

Sounds like you may have been bitten by a white tip spider or something similar. Some people react badly to their bite. Glad to hear that you are okay Annabel.

I hope your arm is better soon as a bite from something that you don't know can be scary, hope the antibiotics are helping. I had to get antibiotics myself this week as I woke up on Wednesday with tonsillitis even though I don't have tonsils. It was that bad I couldn't even drink. It is slowly feeling better.
Looking forward to baby photos next post. Debbie xx

You didn't mention your nasty bite during the week naughty lady. I do hope that now that you have decent meds you are feeling much more like your normal self.
Last week I washed all the windows. I hadn't noticed how dirty they were until I had to scrub the sand a salt residue off them. Now they are lovely and the view outside is nice and clear.
The view has improved as I also got the lawns mowed. I have finally worked out how to work the whipper snipper and the weeds around the pot plants are no more. The paths and fencelines are nice and neat.
I picked up some more paracetamol and emugel on special for my store cupboard. This weeks savings came in at $330.
    Life is good.
