The little birds...

If you watch little birds you will see they are busy and happy! Using whatever they can find they create the most gorgeous little nest.
I would be the little bird with some glittery thread in her nest!
We can be like this. Happily working away with the things that are available to us to create a beautiful and happy home.
All the while with a little song in our heart.

Feather your Nest Friday, 17th July, 2020.

It was a big week.  The biggest thing was  Lucy and Sidney came home from hospital and met the girls.  Because of the virus restrictions they were not allowed to go to the hospital.  So this was very exciting.   There were some truely gorgeous moments!   Anyway now they are old hands at babies and Scarlett thinks she is in charge.

From the start Scarlett was ready to run off with Sidney and I thought ok they are going to have to watch out!

Harper is older and she asks first!  The expressions on their faces tell the story.

They are besotted with him and it is lovely.

Some of the things I have been making are in use now.  I made a heap of softest flannel wraps in cute prints.   Here Sidney is snug in a doggie one I made months ago.

I have lots of beautiful farm and baby farm animal fabrics lined up.  Now I need time to sew them!

Most of the crafts and making is posted over on The Afternoon Club where we share what we are making, reusing, putting to good use, baking and so on.   This is a strictly uplifting place, which is what we all need right now...

So some of the ways I feathered my nest were:

I added heaps to the raised garden beds.  I am surprised how it adds up.  I was given more bags of shredded paper.  I squashed cardboard boxes, added chicken manure from the coop, crushed egg shells and coffee grinds.

I participated in A Working Pantry Challenge which was to add free things to your pantry.  This caused me to focus on all my various free resources and harvest what I could.

It inspired me to start a note book and list resources.   Some are things that are around all the time. We have endless firewood, rabbits, pinecones etc.  Some are seasonal so I set up months of the year... like apples in March and April.   It really got me thinking.   I started then to list things I could do with those assets.  i.e. the wood we cut up... we use it for our fire.  We could sell or gift loads of wood.  We could save the hollow logs and sell to people with aviaries ....  and so on.   I am still thinking of things!

In the thrift store I found another Elsa dress for Harper.  Perfect condition and different!   The last one I bought her she has just lived in it.  To her it is a dress for all occasions, around the home, in the paddock,  to town.  When she is not wearing it she is wearing an older Frozen dress (as above) so now she will have another!

I also found a box of beautiful jars.  One is a vintage one that I particularly collect and keep my dry goods in.  Others are newer jars but good with lids.

There were 7 of the smaller jars.  Six of them are full now of Lemon Butter I made from the lemons and eggs I had.

Some of this is filling cup cakes today.  Some jars went into the freezer.

Andy invested in a wood splitter.   It is amazing.  It cuts through big stumps like butter, splitting them into useable bits.  Our woodpile has greatly increased because of this.

I planted some garlic that sprouted.

I dried some left over mushrooms near the fire and added them to a jar.

This week I did a pretty decent pantry stock up.  The atmosphere in the supermarket was kind of frantic.  There were a lot of unavailable items but not restrictions on how many of each item you could buy.   Each day the news has got a bit worse not a bit better.  Today it is worse again.  This is mainly in the area of numbers of new infections and restrictions and lockdowns.  But they affect everything don't they... confidence, how hospitals are managing,  travel restrictions, supply chains....

I continued on my pantry work.  New shelves I added behind the pantry door are full now.  There were the right width for cartons of long life milk so as I filled them,  this made space and neatened up my actual pantry shelves.   Also some left over strawberries became jam.

We had a good, full of garlic and goodness, chicken soup.   I keep everything on hand to make this.  Some chicken in the freezer, most everything else in the pantry.  As long as I have bay leaves, onion, garlic etc I am happy to use the veggies I have on hand.

The cottage progressed as now I have a double bed ensemble from Buy Swap and Sell in as new condition for $50.   Now I have all the beds needed.

I feel pleased with the week.  It is a fine balance to keep the home a safe haven and sanctuary when there is a crisis outside.  I was discussing this with someone yesterday and how things are at home is so important.  I wrote a series (which is in the index) called "The world within your walls."   There is so much we can do to create a safe and cozy atmosphere.  Routine helps.   Having lovely projects to keep your mind busy helps.  I cannot sit and do nothing but think.  This is a bad formula for me.  I have a new blanket I am working on for Sidney.  In the evening I work on that.   Stitching (of any kind) is calming and peaceful.  Great contentment comes from putting your heart into something and keeping your hands busy.  And learning a new skill or new stitch is so much fun.

On the other hand we don't want to be off with the fairies either.  We need to keep tabs with reality and where possible anticipate smartly and be ahead.  While ignorance is bliss is won't keep your family fed.  We really have the power very often to avert trouble.  "A prudent person sees trouble coming and ducks; a simpleton walks in blindly and is clobbered. The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty."  Proverbs 22:3    It grieves me when it is the small children and Grandchildren of those who don't have their eyes open that suffer.
In order to be prudent we need some knowledge of our local situation and the world more generally.  This group has helped me be ahead as many times the northern countries will experience something slightly before Australia... so this can be a handy tip off!

I hope you found many ways to add to your pantry, preparedness and garden and many ways to bless your family this week.  Sharing your week with us is a big encouragement to others and all information and tips are welcome! xxx

I've had a terrible week, I ran out of glass jars!!! I don't even know how this is possible since not only do I not throw them away, I have been known to rescue them from the recycling bin in the kitchen at work! But there we go, I went into the cellar to get a couple and the shelf was empty.

Seriously, it's not been a bad week, not the greatest, I'm struggling with the misinformation and the never changing rules regarding covid. I can see no sense in most of it, but then again I 'm not paid vast sums of money to come up with these rules. Anyway, I have -

Stocked up on tea, I now have 6 months worth which was very high on my list of priorities.

Bought underwear, unfortunately despite buying 2 sizes bigger than I actually am the things cut off the circulation in my legs, so cue 3 hours worth of pay totally wasted.

Painted! Boy have I painted, using the 'must have, no prime self levelling, cover any surface' paint, only it doesn't! Four coats later and I am not pleased with the results, it might cover any surface but it's awful on wood.

Inspired by you Annabel, I bought some narrow storage to go between the fridge and washing machine (no separate laundry room for me) so that I can store all my laundry products together.

Bought a water kefir starter, as it can be used for fermenting foods.

Bought 2 more sets of bedding, from Aldi of all places! Actually, this bedding was much more what I had in mind and I am really pleased with it.

Repaired the zip in an elderly pair of jeans.

Harvested courgettes (zucchini), raspberries and chard from my garden.

Swapped cushions with my next door neighbour!

I think that's about it, have a good week everyone and stay safe.

    1. Yes, tea is a priority! Currently there may be delays in shipping it from China and India, so you were smart to stock up

    2. Dear Su, I feel your pain as here the contradictory advice is mind blowing. In Melbourne you can get a fine for $200 for not wearing a mask. In SA our supermarket shopping centre has signs to tell you basically you are an idiot if you wear a mask. Don't get me started!
I would hate to run out of jars! Hopefully this means you have been putting up many things and now you just need some more. I hope you find some too!
Your shelf that fits in the gap will be so useful! I LOVE that now we can get a shelf, trolley or something for basically any space. Bathrooms seem notorious for weird gaps... also often a gap between a fridge and the bench... to put this to use is really good!
I have Aldi bed linen and actually Aldi many things. I have been thrilled with everything.
You had a productive week which is very good! You will be glad you got that painting done! With love Annabel.xxx

  3. The pictures of your grandchildren are just precious.
How blessed you are to have them close by.

I am deep cleaning my car today to save money. I looked on Pinterest for tips. Yesterday I threw my small mats in the washer they came out like new. The front mats are too large so I am soaking them in the bathtub. The money I save will go into our food storage.

I bought two plastic dishpans at the Dollar store and I am collecting water that would normally go down the drain. When they get full I water my flowers. I am shocked how much water is wasted.

    Happy Thrifting everyone!

    1. Oh wow, what a super idea to throw the car mats in the washer! Thank you for this great tip! Soaking them in the bathtub is another great idea. I am beginning to think about how precious our water is, great idea on saving it. Love, Bridge

    2. Dear Lynd, Washing up the car mats would make a world of difference. The car gets so bad it drives me crazy! Big savings to do it yourself though!
Saving the water is really good. It sure adds up to a lot. I water the plants with the tea in the tea pot and cooking water too... like the water from cooking veggie. All added goodness too!
Thank you re my photos and grandchildren. They are actually a two hour trip away... not so bad but four hours if we do it in one day which is usually. I never let it go more than a week though if I can... and stay down there or they come say here as well so it adds up to more. It is precise time. Mum and I mostly go together so it is time with Mum too! With love Annabel.xxx

  4. Dear Annabel,
Such precious pictures. Harper and Scarlett are besotted indeed with little Sidney. he will never lack for someone to cuddle him, play with him, and teach him things. I, too, like old jars and many times have saved the jar something came in because it is pretty and can be repurposed. I also have a collection of vintage candy tins that I've picked up over the years. They add a cheerful touch to my kitchen shelving.
You are so very right about that there must be a balance. I work hard during the day either in the garden or freezing store purchases, or other necessary home projects. Each evening I have one or two hours of reading or watching a funny DVD to lift my spirits and doing some handwork project at the same time. I also want to say that pets are a great help during this time. Their complete trust in you is comforting.
Tomorrow will be a store run to stock up on a few things as the cases in nearby counties are on the rise. I'll then spend my afternoon freezing some of the produce (mushrooms, peepers etc.), so tomorrow will be busy. Take care everyone and stay safe.
    Blessings, Laura

    1. Dear Laura, Thank you! Sidney has the most kissed head ever. I also love tins! They are so useful too! I would use tin or glass any day over plastic. Laura my evenings are like yours. I LOVE this me time. We do need it. We need the inspiration for the next day and also for a good sleep. And also to have good thoughts to think! Animals are another for me. You cant get lonely with a dog around. They all bring daily joy. There are also always animals around that need a home. So this is how we come by most of our animals. They do us more good than we do them.
I hope you had good success at the store. Good to observe what is happening around you and act. Adding to the freezer is excellent. With love Annabel.xxx

  8. Annabel so happy Lucy and Sidney are home safely and the girls just love Sidney to bits by the looks of it :).

Your lemon butter looks lovely and you are so right at looking at what we have in resources and making use of them all to supply food and other needs for us.

Yay you got a wood splitter and they are just fantastic aren't they for splitting large and small logs in a fraction of the time :). We love ours too and makes the job so much less back breaking than splitting wood by hand.

Our Vicky challenge added up to $196.93 in savings last week.

    Finances and internet listings -
    - Earned about $27 from the sale of a homemade set of table placemats, drink coasters and napkin rings online.
    - Banked more money into our 3 month living expenses emergency fund bringing us to 98.4 % of the way there. We will achieve and exceed our goal next week :).
    - Listed 20 items on eBay on a free listing promotion saving $33 on paying usual listing fees.

    Purchases -
    - Bought 3 prescription dry cat food for our cat off eBay saving $33 over buying it elsewhere.
    - Purchased a bulk bag of bread improver on eBay saving $100 over buying it in smaller packages in the local supermarkets. I will sell the portion that is over our requirements making our portion next to free for us.

    In the kitchen -
    - Made a family sized blueberry pie from frozen blueberries I bought on half price special previously saving $30.93 over buying it in a bakery.
    - Cooked all meals and bread from scratch.

Have a wonderful week ahead everyone :).

I am impressed by the wood splitter. Amazed actually! It is turning a lot of wood that was too hard to handle into stackable wood.
I met a man... from the army actually, on the border. His Mum is in Adelaide and she pays almost $500 for a load of wood!
The pie sounds beautiful. And luxurious. I dont think I ever have had Blueberry pie but I love Blueberries. Clever purchase on the bread improver too!
Well done on your Ebay sale. It is still July and you are almost there on this big goal! You must feel happy about this! With love Annabel.xxx

  9. Congratulations on your beautiful new grand baby. Our week here - my little daughter came down with sore throat and fever, which made us very anxious for a few days, but we and the dr think it is just a regular virus, and she is starting to feel better. I’m coming down with it now, just slightly. But it was lovely to feel “prepared”, much of which I’ve learned here, in that if we needed to stay in for a couple weeks we would get by nicely. Keeping with routine each day helped immensely, otherwise I probably would’ve just sat and worried. The news is about too much, as cases in Ohio are rising, so many differing opinions about what is and is not true about the virus, etc. I caught up on laundry and meal prep in case I should get to feeling worse. I stocked up on produce, Kleenex, Toilet paper, and children’s Tylenol since I see it is in stock now. We have been using the summer months to teach our kids how to cook, do home maintenance things, and learn and practice chores. This will help them as they grow, and will also be very helpful should Mom or Dad get sick or need to care for someone who is sick. They’ll be able to help keep things running. I’ve also been enjoying going through Laine’s Letters on the “wayback machine” - I often wonder what advice she would have in these days.

  11. My summer garden has been a bust overall, though the tomatoes are alive if not producing. I am not daunted. I am planning my autumn garden now. I can grow quite a lot here due to our extra long growing season.

I am also planning our pantry additions and other goods that we require. I will buy and add as able.

In the meantime my goal is to waste nothing and to get use from it all. I fed my son's chickens scraps from the kitchen. They gave me eggs which is lovely. I had bought eggs but the pale yellow yolks are so insipid compared to the home grown eggs. I'd love to have my own chickens but I am not prepared and I must be ready for them before I acquire them. I've watched too many get the chickens first and then scramble to get their space done. It's very much a cart before the horse thing.

I continue to baby sit our 8mo old grandson and will until at least the first week of August. He's a wonderfully good baby, even while teething but I do feel I am pinned down, lol. Gramma finds it hard to do things and keep baby as well.

Anabelle your new grandson is gorgeous! I know you are so proud of him. I hope you are richly blessed with children in your life. They are such a joy!

  12. Dear Annabel,
The pictures of the girls with Sidney are beautiful. Your week looks and sounds do productive. Lemon curd is one of our very favorite things. I never thought about making a list of assets that were available. It's a very good idea and one I plan to put into practice.

The weather here has been hot and dry so mostly we've only worked in the garden very early in the morning or at sunset. During the rest of the day we're inside. I added yet more pesto to the freezer as well as carrots. Air fried e track pieces of chicken for quick meals from the freezer. Made a shepherds pie with leftovers. We continue to move things around to make more room for food storage. Made birthday cards for July birthdays. I've also been knitting and crocheting cotton reusable face clothes to remove makeup. They're about 3 inched square and only have 17 stitches and 22 does. They go very quickly and several can be made in an evening. They're going to be added to the gift closet and combined with heart shaped lavender soap and lavender wands.
All in all its been a good week. Stay healthy stay safe. Cookie

  13. Dear Annabel,
Such sweet photos. My Dad was discharged from hospital yesterday! He is now back safe at the farm in country Victoria with Mum. I am sooo relieved and thankful. Thankyou for your prayers. This week I managed to process most of the apples, I still have a few to go. My Dad turns 80 very soon so I am working on a crochet blanket every day so I can post it to him. Today I got out in the sunshine and pruned my roses. I am trying to get back into a good routine. Love Clare

  14. Dear Annabel, I just love the photos of the girls and Sidney. They just look full of love! Aren't they all so beautiful!? What a lucky little boy to have such doting family by his side. There will always be someone to give him cuddles or to play with. I love the sound of your lemon butter. Yum! With the jars can you re-use the ones that would normally go to recycling? I plan on making a big casserole tomorrow! Hopefully some can be put away! Lots of love, Bridge

  15. Congratulations on your beautiful grandson Sidney! My husband's great grandfather was a Sidney and one of my sons is named Thomas :) The photos of the girls with their little brother are just adorable. What a delightful time for your family! I'm back at uni again, studying for my degree so most of my time during the day is taken up by that. I'm grateful for studying at home so when I take breaks I'll put on a load of washing, tidy up or get ahead in some way. A friend upgraded her fridge so gave us her old one. It is much bigger than ours which was too small for our needs so this was a real blessing! I cooked some quiches in the pie maker and also some apple and blueberry pies and banana muffins. I've been experimenting with putting my "handmaidens" to good use and what I can make other than pies in my pie maker. The muffins turned out pretty good! I also got ahead with more tinned goods for my pantry and was gifted a big bag of oranges. Other than juicing them, orange cake and marmalade how else can I put these to good use Annabel and Bluebirds? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thank you Annabel for providing a warm, welcoming and supportive space and sharing your ideas on ways we can get ahead in providing for our families. You are a godsend! xx

  16. Very sweet baby pics!
Regarding assets, remember that any plant that you can grow from cuttings or save seeds is a potential to increase at no cost or little cost and should be regarded as an asset for barter or gifting

  17. Annabelle, your pictures of baby Sidney and the girls always make me smile. So precious. I love the doggie blanket.
It's very hot and dry here as we've had no rain for several weeks. Even the okra which usually thrives in hot weather seems to be at a stand still.
It was a good week to gather all our white things and give them a good bleach and line dry. They look and smell so fresh now.
I had milk to use up so made a big batch of biscuits. At a local library I picked up a new (to me) cookbook titled "The Christian Bed & Breakfast Cookbook" for a whopping .25 cents. It's a good one, with plenty of quiches, frittatas, omelettes and many other great recipes and ways to use up eggs.
We made 2 jars of salsa and 20 jars of jalapeno pepper jelly. That was a large savings when compared to store prices. And my husband is addicted to that stuff!
I added 2 items to the "cold and flu" drawer in our health/medical stash. I'm completely out of storage room in that area so I need to get creative.
As for other savings, we got online and ordered a new countertop for our kitchen remodel, saving quite a bit. Plus we got free shipping and a 5% discount for using a credit card. (We only use credit cards to get the discounts and never have to pay interest by paying by the due date.)
I have a bit more canning to do (peaches and berries in the freezer) and then I'll be happy to stay cool inside and do some sewing and needlework. Have a good week, all!

  18. Oh Annabel! You have the prettiest grandchildren! Sidney is just beautiful and oh how his sisters adore him. Sweet, sweet. How is Lucy doing?

I think listing your assets is a great idea. I haven’t done so in some years and need to. It triggers new ideas and is quite comforting. Yay for the wood splitter! I would like to own one as well. We have a LOT of trees on our property. Also, Yay for the cottage beds. Almost there!

Over the past two months I have focused hard on building up our food, toiletry, household supplies, and OTC medicine pantries to provide for us for several months and also be able to help our daughter and her husband a bit should they need it. I feel I have accomplished that goal. I was thinking of alternate areas for storage as my pantry cupboards were filled, but then trouble came as if often does. A slow leaking hot water heater! By the time the water damage was discovered, it had ruined my two cupboards. Fortunately the insides were undamaged still. So, we had to purchase new ones that my husband put together. The good news is these are larger than our old ones so they will hold what I currently need them to. I also rearranged my little cupboard I use for toiletries so it is easy to see what we have. I also did the same with my OTC medicine area. Doing this gives me peace, you know? I am working on a food inventory on charts I made. Also, hubby and I completely emptied our chest freezer and inventoried and rearranged items. This led to us having Thanksgiving meal in July! LOL I had two turkeys in the bottom of the freezer!

I purchased a pulse oximeter to measure oxygen saturation rates and my allergist gave me a peak flow meter to use at home. I have Reactive Airway issues, basically allergies that affect how my lungs feel. Fortunately, my lung function is good but it reassures me to have these. Oh, I have all our prescription medicines set up for 90 day supply with each refill as well.

Another issue we had this past week is that the elevated beds we used for the first time this year collapsed! Yes, they did. The wood warped badly. Hubby doesn’t think we will be able to get the money back, but I want to try. Fortunately, we were able to replace them with on the ground raised beds and the plants all survived the fall.

I added nice tomato, cucumber, sweet pepper, rosemary, lavender plants either in the garden or in containers on the porch. All of these were purchased at deep discounts. I also bought two beautiful large hanging baskets with petunias for $3 each! Plus, I purchased seed packets for the future at 25% off. I harvested cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, blackberries, green beans and plenty of herbs from the garden. I dried and jarred oregano. My fig tree, blueberry bushes and bay laurel are all doing well in spite of the heat so I’m hopeful to have plenty of figs and blueberries and planning to harvest bay leaves shortly. Also, the shriveled potatoes I planted in my garden are now large plants, so I hope they will bear potatoes for us.

I bought a whole bucket full of tomatoes from a farm stand for $8. I made most of our meals at home and made lunches for hubby every day.

The virus is really spreading in our area. Most places are requiring masks now. We always wear one when we go in a store. It will make you quite worried if you allow to dwell on it. However, we can do what we can to prepare, be prudent as you said, and leave the rest up to God. We are in His hands and He knows what He is doing. Much love to you and yours, CarlaM

    1. Dear Carla,
Thank you so much. Lucy is doing pretty well!
Carla if you try asking for your money back and this isn't successful I find your best bet is to post pictures of the fail on the social media page. I did this after serval private attempts on a deposit we never got back on solar panels we never got. no luck no luck luck. So I left an online review. The money came back so fast then. If a product doesnt do what it is supposed to do then you have a perfectly good case. But this doesnt replace all the effort you put in...
A pulse oximeter is a really good thing to have. It is reassuring if you can see your oxygen levels are good.
I agree having your OTC and prescription medicines... a well stocked pantry and freezer... all these things do give us peace. There are many things we can do and they do feel calming to have in place.
Figs, blueberries and bay leaves will all be wonderful to harvest!! I have been drying parsley.. I would love to be drying oregano. I will plant up much more oregano this summer.
The bucket of tomatoes was a good buy too! You really did a lot and it was a good week. The use of masks is spreading in Australia. A $200 fine in some places if not worn now. I also agree... it is distressing to dwell on. If we keep busy doing useful things, help ourselves and others and pray! I am finding comfort in these things. Today I did a lot and did some baby sewing. This really made me feel happy!
I hope your week is going well! With love Annabel.xxx

  19. Annabel,
The kiddos just make my heart melt. The girls are so sweet to their new baby.
Yay on the wood splitter! We have the one Rick built and watching those huge pieces get split is amazing each time. And the wood piling up is a big comfort.
You are very wise to keep track of the resources around you. I am doing the same. The yard is transforming for some reason. It has changed from lots of dandelions to clover, red and white. Clover adds nitrogen to the soil so this is good! Also many beneficial and edible weeds. I am trying to find more information on wild lettuce. I have it growing and it is a natural painkiller. I have also sourced wild onions and black walnuts.
This week has seen me in the garden a lot. It is doing well for as hot as it's been. If we get a good rain it will really get things going out there. Giving tomatoes a pruning is really helpful and the epsom salts is doing it's job as well.
I added to the compost with kitchen scraps and chicken coop poo. Sold 3 dozen eggs, received a toddler learning toy and a bag of cat food to review. Those totaled $87. I cashed out survey points for gift cards that totaled $115. Some will go towards the dining room and some for extra pantry items.
I hung out the wash and it is so lovely to see sheets and curtains hanging on the line. I washed some curtains I had stored so I can swap them out.
I am decoupaging a bucket and just need to decide if I want to add to it or call it good.
I am making more space on shelves and in cupboards so that I can add things to them.
I cut a few pieces of fabric for a project for later, but at least I got a few of the pieces cut.
I added a good amount to the pantry from my recent shop. Items for the simple meals and versatile ingredients we talked about in a previous post and was able to drop off plastic bags for recycling in the bin at the store.
I made a batch of puff pastry and put it in the freezer for later to make chocolate or raspberry turnovers for Todd. Note to self try making it on cooler days.
There is more to my list, but it is just normal housework.
I hope everyone has a great week!
    XOXO
    Vicky

    1. Dear Vicky, I am very interested i the wild onions and Black Walnuts. I have heard of black walnuts and dont think we have them here. If we do they re something I dont know about.
You had good earnings last week! I havent seen the bucket. But I find one touch is lovely on something old and that is all it needs.
We are doing the same with the shelves. I have been up and down ladders transferring toilet paper supplies to high cupboards and freeing up lower cupboards... for pantry storage. I am still at it and creating new free cupboards to stock.
I did even get some sewing started today yay!
It was a pretty good week. I hope the rain you mentioned arrives and helps the garden. Rain is better than anything! With love Annabel.xxx

  20. Hello Annabel,
I don't think I have commented before. Sorry, I should have told you ages ago how much I love visiting here! I live in England and have retired early (I am 56) due to Parkinson's Disease. Compared to you and your readers I do little to get ahead, plan, prepare etc though I did a lot in the past! But all our meals are still home cooked. I need help with cooking now. We still "cook once, eat twice (and more) freezing our own "ready meals" for low energy days. I can't garden much now but I have been propogating herbs. I bought £1 basil plant from the supermarket. I cut stems and rooted them in water. I now have 5 new plants! I propogate house and garden plants too - these free new plants then become gifts for friends and family. From one spider plant bought about 5 years ago I have propogated more than 50 new plants!I make most of my cards, each card costs me pennies but are always well received. I love saving money and home making. Thank you for making this blog a lovely place to visit.

    1. Dear Lynn, Thank you so much for commenting. And for such a nice comment too! I am sorry about your Parkinsons. My Pa had Parkinsons only very late in life. It sounds like you are doing really well. It is a great idea to cook double... I do this and extra and get ahead on meals. I need to try doing basil this way! Basil is a favourite and so useful. We love pesto and that is useful too!
I love that you make cards too. We have much in common! Thank you so much! With love Annabel.xxx

  21. Hi Annabel

Just wanted to say congratulations on the birth of Sidney, such a handsome little fellow he is. I took a quick look when you posted his birth photos but was too unwell to be posting or being on the computer.

The girls both look like they adore him. Their photos just make your heart melt.

Currently I am doing a Additives free lifestyle course so not much else is happening here.

    Take Care
