First we have Lorraine. Her Grand daughter is crazy about Unicorns. Lorraine made this gorgeous card for her...
Inspiration for all the card makers amongst us!
And this pillowcase...
What a beautiful present!
Loraine also made a gift for her caravanning friends..
I am sure they loved it!! Both gifts were exactly what the recipient LOVES. This is a sure way to gift making success. Just lovely Lorraine!
And now to Jen in NS. She was busy crafting for her annual Church fundraiser.
She made cards, pot holders (which I love) and kitchen towels...
Crochet pot holders, heat pads, coasters...
And socks and mittens!
I would want to buy all this. More I want to make it. When I see gifts that I know I would love to receive then I know this is what I should be making!
Thank you both for posting your photos!
After so many amazing hand made items I am feeling excited to start off a new year. We are going to start in January with a big challenge to get as much made week by week as we can. It seems to be encouraging to have someone to report to and share what we have done so this is what we are going to do! We are going to join Alison and Rebecca and get together every second Tuesday. What we will be able to do will be amazing. If you missed Alison and Rebecca their story was posted just last week. Getting together regularly helped them achieve an enormous amount!
I hope your week is going well! xxx
Dear Annabel,
ReplyDeleteThank you far adding another show and tell!
Lorraine!!! I love your card and pillowcase! I am actually putting a gift together right now for a unicorn lover and what did I make her? A pillowcase! I found some unicorn themed cereal so I'm going to tie it together with a sort of "sweet dreams, unicorn" theme. Maybe add some pillow mist. Anyway, great job on the card and pillowcases. I really like the trim you added too!
Jen, I always, always love to see your knitting! I hope the fundraiser was a success. I don't know how it couldn't be with such beautiful things for sale. I'd be a customer! Great job getting so many things made, too.
Annabel, I am really looking forward to the new year too and what you have in store for us. I think this year had so many big (wonderful!) changes for a lot of us and it has been a year of adjusting to different things. I am ready to get into a "new normal" routine. I look forward to joining in with your challenges!
Love, Kelsey
What beautiful things you ladies have made!! Jen, if I lived in NS instead of Ontario, I would be buying at your stall for sure. I love those kitchen towels. And Lorraine, that card is magnificent! You are a true artist. Thankyou, Annabel, for showcasing all the lovely things the Bluebirds make. It is truly and inspiration to me.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you- I would love to receive any of what's pictured here as a gift, so that's a sign to me that I need to get to work! Beautiful handiwork, everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely gifts! I'm with you Annabel - I would love to receive any of these! So many ideas - from now on I need to start in January to get things made for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving,
Phyllis
I'm not much of a crafter, but seeing all these beautiful things has really got me excited! I particularly love the cards and sewing, you may have ignited something in me here LOL
ReplyDeleteI hope so! Start with something easy like card making... soon you will be up and running!xxx
DeleteOh my word. I am in love with it all. So much talent!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! That unicorn card is so sweet, and I love that pillow, Lorraine!
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for the compliments. We set up a craft/bake sale table (which hadn't been done before) at our annual Parish Ham Supper, and it was quite successful! We didn't sell absolutely everything, but only a couple of items came back home with me...just enough to be able to use some for Christmas gifts for my family. :) The items that were nicely presented and clearly labeled sold MUCH better than the items that weren't. I was thinking about Rebecca and Alison and their comments about nice packaging!! The owl mitts sold before any supper customers even showed up...one of the other helpers wanted them for his wife, who is an owl lover...I didn't even have a price tag on them, yet! :) The sale was a last minute decision, but for just a few hours' labour over the last couple of weeks and supplies we already had on hand, we added quite a bit to the profit of the dinner, and had fun, to boot. Now there's talk of getting together and prepping all year, so I think a craft group may evolve!!!
I am really looking forward to being held accountable by the Bluebirders here next year. I love your idea of getting together "with" Rebecca and Alison!!!
Thanks so much for the camaraderie, Annabel!
Love, Jen in NS

ReplyDeleteJen NS , beautifully presented work !

Such beautiful items. They are made with such attention to detail. I have loved seeing each and every item posted here in this series.
ReplyDeleteLove, Kaye
Lorraine that card is amazing - how talented you are! And I would love that caravan pillow for my caravan.
ReplyDeleteJen - I would love to be able to sit beside you as you were making those potholders so that you could show me how to do that - they are beautiful. What do you scent the hot pads with?
Alison and I are enjoying having made so much earlier in the year so that we now have the time to look at how to present and package each item - this week we were making bags that would fit a few presents in and now considering ways to decorate them.
How lovely would it be to have a international "Crafty Tuesday" that we can all share?
Thankyou lovely ladies for your kind and loving words. It's made my day! Xxx
ReplyDeleteAnnabel, Thankyou so much once again for facilitating these Show and Tell to share so many inspiring ideas. I can't wait to see what you have in store for next year!!
Jen your handwork is truly beautiful. Your chosen colours, fabrics and variety of crafts is amazing, as is your packaging and labelling.. you have certainly set the benchmark high!
I just love Annabel and all you fellow Bluebirds 💕 What a beautiful, caring community! Xxx
Hi All
ReplyDeleteI have been busy catching up an seeing how talented you all are. There are some amazing crafts here. Well done to you all.
This year I bit the bullet and we bought me a new sewing machine that does not only sewing but quilting and embroidery. I am almost finished a table runner that I am currently hand sewing the edges on and I have started embroidery lessons making this into a cushion for DD8 and now I have started a Christmas wall hanging. Once finished I will take some photos.
I decided to have lessons as this machine is fully technical and also for the social aspect of things. I go 2 mornings a week and really look forward to learning what I can do.
Thank you for sharing all these amazing crafts with us Annabel
Take Care
Aly xx
Lorraine, your card and pillow covers are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteJen, your crafts are ideal Christmas presents. So much time into the crocheted and knitted items! Thank you both for sharing!
Blessings,
Leslie
